Overview

You will be writing an argumentative essay about a controversial topic. The topics to choose from are listed below, and you must pick a side to defend in the paper. You must have 3 points of argumentation and a counter-point as well as evidence to support your claims. Your paper must include a minimum of 3 scholarly sources and you must use at least 1 in-text citation for each source. Due dates for the rough draft and final essay are found on the syllabus.

-Violent video games
-Fossil fuels
-Stem cells
– Minimum wage
-Universal health insurance
– Vegetarianism/veganism

Writing your essay on a topic other than one of these will result in an automatic 0.

Format
The paper should be a minimum of 3-4 pages in length. It should conform to MLA style—double-spaced, 12 font, Times New Roman, 1” margins. MLA heading. You must have in-text citations and a Works Cited page in MLA format.
