”Angelo” scenario

Task:
Read the “Angelo” scenario below.

You are a new graduate registered nurse in an acute mental health setting when 22-year old Angelo is admitted. You notice that he is thinly built, his hygiene is poor, although he is neatly dressed. At interview, Angelo seems cooperative. He shows little facial expression when talking. You notice he seems distracted at times. When the interviewer asks him what was distracting him he was slow to respond as if listening. He eventually tells the interviewer that he is hearing bad comments and he needs to be careful. His answer is very brief. When the interviewer then asks about “voices” or why he should be “careful” he becomes suspicious and agitated.
