To what extent the online social media is important for new companies in particular when facing the tough competition from companies with ultimate resources. Therefore, can a start-up business rely on social media channels as a low cost tool to influence customer’s buying decision in order to increase its revenue.

The aim is to establish how online social media channels influence customer’s buying decisions, and how these channels can be used as an online marketing tool to help a start-up business expanding.

The customer buying process is divided to five stages: Need Recognition, Information Search, Evaluation of Alternatives, Purchase Decision, Post- Purchase Decision (Lantos, 2015)}

The survey method on 220 international students (all clients of UKECI), they will be asked to answer 20 closed ended questions related to the influence of the online social media on their buying decisions.
The data analysis will be performed by using SPSS. Presenting the data in statistical format, and by using correlation coefficient tool provided by the program the researcher can clearly examine the relationship between the variables and distinguish the dependent and the independent once.
