This is Persuasive Speech
This is the requirement of the speech.
I would like you to write me a transcript of your speech. They are composed of an introduction to the topic, body, a transition sentence, amain idea to support the idea, and a summary.

1. You will be presenting your speech in an online environment to myself and your group members.
Everyone must be present for the entire hour (as we are the audience).
When you deliver your speech you must demonstrate effective verbal and nonverbal communication behaviors for a public speaking context
A visual aid is required
The time limit for this speech is 7-9 minutes. As timing is an important speaking skill, you are expected to stay within this time.
For every 15 seconds, you fall short or exceed this time, you will earn a 2 point deduction in your overall score. Should you go over 9 ½ minutes, I will ask you to stop your speech.
Note: Practice your speech aloud several times (with a timer) and you will feel comfortable with the time constraints.
You are required to use Monroe’s Motivated Sequence (Links to an external site.) for your speech format (we will cover this format in during week 5)
Research – required minimum of 4 sources
You must submit a CRAAP test for each source that is not scholarly (Links to an external site.)
At least 2 scholarly sources (Links to an external site.) (print, online, book, and/or interview) are required
1 source must be in support of the opposition
You may use a speaking outline or note cards (whichever is comfortable for you) while you speak. You may not use your preparation outline as the purpose of this outline is to help you prepare for your speech, not help you deliver your speech. Your speaking outline or notecards should only contain keywords, reminders, and important information that will help to make your delivery successful.
Practice the speech aloud several times with a timer! The remaining sources can be media (news, YouTube video, blogger video)
Do not memorize the entire speech. Your delivery should be extemporaneous.
This speech will require a one minute question and answer period.
Be prepared to answer questions (time permitted)
