A journey of miles begins with a single step.

A journey of miles begins with a single step. This means that to achieve your goals, you will require just a single starting point and to instill an effort in it. As you progress towards achieving your goals, many things come your way that will contribute to your success and others that will be blocks to hinder you from achieving your goal. This paper discusses such factor using my personal life in secondary school.

The question as to whether students in day secondary schools should be given more assistance than their brothers and sisters in boarding schools is something we should look and think critically about. To begin with, all students whether in day or boarding schools are students. The only difference is the schools they are in. the books they study are the same and thy face the same exams and in those same exams they test the same knowledge. Therefore, there is no difference between students in boarding or day schools.

Despite having the above similarities, a huge gap exists between them. To begin with, students in day school have all the best reasons to smile: as they study, they have all their time with their parents and with their community at large. They are in touch with things that happen in their village. Secondly, they learn to be hard students since they are in touch with their community. Therefore, they earlier and learn about their community than their colleagues in boarding schools.

Again, there is little control to students in day schools; they have more than 50% of their day free, that is, they have a lot of time when they are not in control of their teachers. They are therefore likely to use this as the advantage not to work hard as their equals in boarding schools. Those who properly use the time they are not in school often admire their life in day learning institutions.

Apart from this, students from boarding schools comprehensive advantages exceeding their equals in day schools. They have all their time being concentrated at the school where they do now waste their time in movements as their brothers and sisters in day school would do early in the morning and late in the evening. To learn for them becomes very easy since all the books they need are in school, their colleagues whom they can contact are in school for the whole time.

Therefore, to address this, more concentration should be given to the students in day school than those in boarding schools should. To succeed in such schools requires a collective responsibility and advice given to them. It is easier to do this to students in boarding school than to those in day schools. It was hard for me to get such advice from other people apart from my close relatives. The best thing for me was just to be committed and know myself, not all students could be as determined as I was.

To conclude, students in day schools should be given more concentration than their associates in boarding schools since despite having advantages to interact with their society, they are in school to learn and they should use that time to study. To study, they face many challenges that include time wastage in movements, lack of a central point where they could be together to study or get advice as their colleagues in boarding school does among other constraints.
