Paper Topic:
Write about the nature of film by analyzing Michelangelo Antonioni’s film BLOW UP (1966), what does it disclose, reveal, have to say, tell us about film’s unique “take” on the world?
Specifically, how might Blow-Up be viewed as something more than a movie about an apparent murder in search of a solution, but as being simultaneously a commentary on the limits and possibilities of photography and film, on what each can and cannot do, on what’s peculiar or special about the two mediums?
You can support your argument by drawing theories or ideas presented in Rear Window, North By Northwest or Vertigo in mind, AND the reading I attached(The World Viewed), What is Blow-Up “thinking?”
Important Instruction:
1. This is a paper for philosophy class, so the most important thing is to make the argument as strong as you can and make the path of proof as clear as you can!
2.Please write your introduction similar to this: I am writing about…. The first thing I am going to prove is… the second is …. And the third is…… Please state clearly the structure of the paper and the path of proof.
3. Lastly, in this paper, professor requires us to include a counter argument, so you have to make a counter argument and then prove it as wrong by supporting examples.
