Enhanced information literacy within a society or an institution can help a person to understand the difference between war and peace while offering guidance through a process of transformation (Cross-cultural Interaction 174). The understanding of information has enabled people to improve their sympathetic capacity while pursuing an integral part of a society characterized by violence. Moreover enhanced information literacy has been situated as vital factor in developing individuals’ thoughtfulness on how to quell chances of violence and adopt peace in a wider social, cultural and political environment. Being information literate is a way of achieving personal empowerment by enriching ones’ experience on how to tackle issues within the society and foster peace among people. Moreover, enhanced information literacy enables people to make trustworthy judgments and accurate choices that empower instincts of an individual while giving more confidence on how to improve cohesion within the society (Cross-cultural Interaction 174).
The effort to improve information literacy among people provides the society with a frame work through which people can improve their skills on how to create an organized share of resources within a particular affected area and create unity among divided people (Yuzer and Gulsun 359). In several occasions, in adequate or lack of enhanced information is perceived to be an attribute of conflict and violence that can only be handled by offering adequate information. Since conflict leads to separation of intellectual aspects, having enhanced information literacy reduces level of functionality towards coming an atrocity of any kind. Ultimately an enhanced understanding of information literacy improves the degree of prominence and visibility that in turn attract support of varied institutions in recognizing peace as integral part of the society instead of violence (Yuzer and Gulsun 359).
