Use of Blood Spatter to Reconstruct Crime Events

Use of Blood Spatter to Reconstruct Crime Events

The use of blood stains to reconstruct areas of crime has attracted a lot of attention lately from the law

enforcement agencies due to the success that has been witnessed. The patterns and the nature of the

blood patterns are observed to depict the picture of the occurrence of the crime event. These blood

samples can be investigated their DNA test to establish the person. The blood patterns can also be

observed to tell what was happening in the scene during the crime event. The key factors that are

considered in the investigation include the direction of the blood stains travel. This helps to depict

where the person could have been heading to.

The other reason which is considered is the distance between the blood source and the target surface.

This is also used in the analysis situation where the person conducting crime could have been gone for

hiding. The determination of the convergence points of the blood stains is also determined either in 2-D

or 3-D. This is very important in the determination of the line of impact as well as the judgment of how

vigorous the crime scene might have been. The blood patterns are then documented and stored either

through photographs or sketches that help the crime experts in further investigation.
