Professional Development: Students will attend a professional meeting related to iIT or another approved event outside of class. Students will write a 500 word reflection on the meeting or event and chart their own path of professional development. This will count as 10% of the final grade. This is due by 9pm on Sunday, April 19th – no exceptions. Examples of events you may consider attending include Tech after Five (http://techafterfive.com/ta5/), PMI (http://www.pmi-midlands.org/), POSSCON (http://posscon.org/), or events lists at Cola Tech Events (http://www.colatechevents.com/).
For the reflection, include details of the professional meeting that you attended. Consider some of the following questions in your write up. Are IT professionals life-long learners? Why or why not? What do you love to learn about? How do you introduce yourself to others? What sets you apart? What career path do you see yourself pursuing? How can professional development help you achieve your career goals?.
