In the lecture programme, a number of quality tools have been
discussed. Each of these has strengths and limitations that make them
suitable for some situations but not others – and therefore an
effective manager must evaluate them and decide the factors that
determine appropriateness.

I have been given the following quality tools to do a 10 min power
point presentation on:

– The Ishikawa Diagram
– and Investors in People

You must evaluate them.

It is suggested that the following structure is used:

1. Summary of the tool or technique (i.e. what it is.)
Its definition, its history, its aim.

2. What it delivers
Its claimed benefits, its impact upon an operation or business.

3. What it requires in terms of resourcing – e.g. time, knowledge,
finance, skill, a particular culture.

4. Conclusion
Situations when it is/is not appropriate.

Please note that the power point presentation should also include an
introduction with clear aims and objectives, and a detailed
bibliography. References should be cited throughout the slides with
the full reference in the in bibliography.

There is a strict deadline for this and it MUST be done in three days.
