Paper details:
grad student working towards a public health nursing degree. My aim for this paper to review the policies in the US that have led to a lack of access to quality respite care for pediatric and adolescent patients with life-limiting or serious chronic health conditions. Other countries (such as UK, Canada) have more robust policies that support this type of care. I want to argue that this type of care is wanted and needed by the children and their families, and that it would be beneficial to the long-term outcomes of both children and their care-givers. I want to explore what is preventing the US from expanding access to this type of care.
