In addition the student will develop goals and objectives for the members of the family and then discuss what therapeutic intervention you might use based on all of the information gathered

Give your overall impression of the family in the film.

What are the issues that each member is dealing with? Develop these issues from the family’s perspective, not your own. Write this section as a dialogue describing what you think each person might say about what is going on with him or her.

What are the strengths that the family has, both as a unit and individually?

How would you deal with this family if they came to see you?  Remember that the parents have split up so the work needs to be to help them function best with that as an issue. In other words, your goal will not be to reunite this family.

What theoretical framework would you use and why?

Come up with a goal and two objectives (howthey will achieve this goal) for each family member and for the family as a whole. Remember that goals are only achievable if the person sees it as having merit. You need to justify WHY you think these goals would be appropriate.
