Most criminal justice experts argue that the correctional system is the “forgotten branch” of the criminal justice system. Budget cuts often are directed at correctional facilities, and rehabilitation efforts can be difficult to find. Two questions for the criminal justice system become, “what happens with people when they are released from prison?” and “Have prisoners benefitted from their time being warehoused, or do they become better criminals by learning from their peers?” Utilizing at least two, scholarly outside sources, detail statistics from your home state for recidivism rates. Write a 2-3 page paper that offers innovative, realistic solutions which would help reduce recidivism rates for people release from prison.
