The (SEIU) Healthcare is an important partner with the state in meeting its health care demands in a cost-effective way. Healthcare insurance is well-organized in Iowa. Many citizens in the state of Iowa are covered by health insurance.
The numbers of the state’s citizens who work in the healthcare and social assistance sectorare not enough to meet the needs healthcare needs of all citizens. The .Rural areas are distressed more by this deficiency than the urban areas (Arrighi & Maume, 2007). Healthcare facilities are limited in the rural areas and the few that have been installed ends up being shattered. Health insurance coverage does not have a big difference compared to urban areas. The citizens who are not insured or their cover does not include certain services are denied access to healthcare treatment (Moonesar, 2013).
Inadequate transportation in the rural areas of Iowa has made communities fail to access the healthcare when needed (Arrighi & Maume, 2007). The state also received low reimbursements from the federal government, resulting to the states’ nursing and physicians’ shortage. The persons in the rural areas are affected by this shortage and access to healthcare became difficult.
American Public Health Association (APHA) works with Congress, Regulatory Agencies and other public organizations to develop public health in the governmental and policy-making procedure. APHA aims at upholding the citizen’s and the
and is also a challenge to the state of Texas. The inadequate reimbursement from the federal government has also brought a shortage to nurses and physicians in Texas, a similar case that has predominated in Iowa (Moonesar, 2013). However, a high percentage of citizens in Texas are uninsured unlike in Iowa where many residents have a health insurance cover. The citizens and the local government of Texas are made to compensate for the care, which increases the costs of healthcare. Each non-profit hospital is required to provide some free health care to uninsured citizens and those who ere unable pay for hospital care; unlike in Iowa where citizens can not be treated if they lack a health insurance.
In the state health rankings, Missouri ranked the third from the bottom, unlike Iowa which ranked the twentieth. There is a large percentage of insurance coverage to the Missouri residents as the case with Iowa. However, having a health insurance cover in Missouri does not guarantee a patient to have access to the needed healthcare, which is not the case in Iowa. Similar to Iowa, the uninsured adults who can not afford to pay for their hospital bills are denied access to good healthcare (Goodman, 2005). A law that provides opportunities to remove the financial barriers has been enacted in Missouri in order to make everybody have access to quality healthcare.
