Should Every American Go to College?

Argumentative, or persuasive essays, assert that one position is superior to another. This type of essay tries to convince the reader to take some action, or to adopt the writer’s point of view on a particular issue. In this essay you should choose which side of the issue or problem you are going to support, and propose a solution to the problem. Your argument must be coherent and well organized. Your essay should display a logical progression that lead to a conclusion and offers evidence by stating facts, presenting specific examples, and quoting experts (outside sources)
Remember that an argumentative assay must provide specific and convincing evidence above and beyond that used in other essays. You should test your thesis, or claim, and anticipate and address opposing viewpoint. You should counter possible by revealing flaws in the logic of opposing arguments and uncovering what could be distortions or misrepresentations of certain facts.
