Patients’ information needs a very high degree of protection. It is very unethical to share
information about the sick in the public domain due to the sensitivity of some of the issues
(Kizza). The patients of Metro would be at several risks if their information was not protected
effectively and fell on wrong hands.
First of all, they would be at a risk of segregation. This is possible when the information about
their sickness was realized by people who know them. There is a high likelihood that they will
share with other people especially if the sick happen to be their enemies. This means that the sick
might be segregated by their friends and relatives when they get out of the hospital. This may
cause a lot of stigmatization which can cause adverse effects to their sickness.
