Pilot Case Study

A pilot case study can also be referred to as a pilot experiment or a pilot project. The

main features desired for a new case study include the feasibility studies as well as the pretesting

of the particular research instruments. The feasibility of the study is the process which seeks to

develop the understanding of the actual test to be conducted. On the other hand, pretesting helps

to determine the preliminary results so as to make related decisions. This is mainly a type of

preliminary study in small scale that is intended to establish the evaluation of the time, cost as

well as the feasibility of a statistical research (Yin, 2013). This implies that a pilot case study

evaluates various aspects of the research such as sample data, population sample, and sample

size among others. This is very important because the researcher can be able to predict the

required tools and techniques that are relevant and the ones that might be very efficient.
