By the end of this course, it is expected that students will be able to form their own theory of how humans grow and develop.
Students will write their theory of human development, incorporating (Barbara. M Newman and Philip. R Newman’s book) six expectations of a theory of human development:
1.The direction of change over the lifespan.
2.The mechanisms that account for growth over the lifespan.
3.The relevance of early experiences on later development.
4.The interaction of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functions. 5.The impact of environmental and social contexts.
6.Risk factors at different stages of development.
The essay is limited to six double spaced pages. It should draw upon the theories and frameworks studied in class. All written work must be well written, grammatically correct, and formatted according to the APA Manual, Sixth Edition.
