1000 word analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a case study research project design. A case study is an in depth study of a particular situation/phenomenon, a strategy used to narrow down a broad field into one easily researchable topic. In this part of the portfolio you need to address the strengths and weaknesses of a selected case study. In doing so consider what problems, issues a researcher would face in investigating this case study, they can be for example be related to the nature of the topic, methodological design, sources (literature) and explain how you would overcome them. In addition, you must also evaluate the strengths of the specific case study, what are the positives of this kind of research project in terms of its design, topic area (aim)-you want to consider and reflect on the key principles of research design we cover in the module. Where possible you need to give a brief summary of what key words or literature you would gather and what method(s) would be appropriate for your selected case study. However YOU DO NOT need to actually carry out research or collect data-this is just to see HOW you would approach the case studies as a piece of research design and reflect the knowledge on design/understanding of different research methods. This part of portfolio is asking you to be critical in your evaluation of the selected case study as a research topic.
