1.Describe Sustainable Transport Policy, including a brief history of how it has emerged and why sustainability is viewed with ever increasing

importance. You should not consider Nottingham City Council in this section, but consider a wider view, such as the strategies being developed by

central government and even wider initiatives.
2.Choose a mode of transport from public passenger transport, cycling or walking and describe in broad terms how each is promoted. You should

consider infrastructure improvements and softer measures such as campaigns by the likes of Sustrans and Campaign for Better Transport.
3.Describe Nottingham City Council; how it is organised and in particular where transport strategy and other related strategies sit within its

structure. You should consider including the Councils relationship with external organisations and governmental departments in the delivery of its

transport strategy.
4.Choose an example of how Nottingham City Council delivers projects on your chosen mode of transport. You should consider investigating funding

sources and any possible influence from external organisations, including campaign groups. You should consider explain how your case study / example

sits within the Councils transport and other strategies.
