SUBJECT:Suggestion about addition of a corporate “nap room” at the offices of Bumstead & Associates
I am compelled to express my concern about the addition of some rooms in the firm that will serve as “nap rooms” for workers. The nap rooms will assist the workers to rest after long working hours, therefore, increase their productivity.
Particularly, yesterday I was concerned when I felt very uncomfortable due to lack of sleep the previous night and felt unproductive the whole day. The same case applies to other workers when they work longer into the night, and it can result to underperformance in the firm. There is evidence that taking a nap can rejuvenate the workers. It is known that Thomas Edison used to keep a cot in his office to nap when he got very tired, and he got new ideas while napping.
There have also been several other businesses. Shelly Ginenthal, the human resource manager at Macworld MagazineBruce Yarde, who is the president of Yarde Metals in Bristol Connecticut, put strength to the fact that a quick nap could rejuvenate anyone, that a strong recommendation to have it in Bumstead & Associates firm. The president of Yarde Metals said that their firm had a “nap room” that could hold twenty-five workers at once, and they witnessed positive results as a result of the quick nap.
It is also possible to have a nap room at this firm since several others have done it and witnessed desirable results. Another solid example that can motivate us is the Gould Evans Goodman Associates which is an architectural firm in Kansas City in Missouri. The firm has plans to incorporate a “nap room” for the sake of their workers. I believe the firm will adopt my vision and see the need to do the same.
