My strengths and challenges in becoming a leader-manager.

For me to become a good leader, my strengths and weaknesses remain relevant for they influence the way I will tackle any duties or tasks assigned to me individually as well as a team. A careful analysis of them, best done through evaluation of my followers’ point of view about how I lead is important. This is because, understanding my strengths helps me in capitalizing on them, while my weaknesses provide a better room for improvement and, therefore, becoming a better leader (Elaine 102).

In handling of team duties, I have always been a good team player both as an ordinary member and team leader. These range from class activities such as discussions and group work to extracurricular activities such as games and field visits whereby I have worked well with the other members for a common success.

When I am at my best, I tackle my duties with a high level of organization. My close associates have always commented on my organizational skills of the day to day activities be it in a group or personal duties. This has always ensured a smooth flow of each duty without overlapping or unnecessary duplication.

I have always been knowledgeable about the current and contemporary issues affecting myself as well my followers as a whole. This has always kept me updated about the new happenings affecting the group such as its compositions, opinions as well as dynamics.

I have mastered the art of good communication and with understanding to This has made articulate in passing information, facts and ideas making me a good leader.

In situations whereby a motivation is highly needed, I do serve as a good instilled hope and will to myself and my followers, therefore, renewing their desire to achieve the set goals and objectives.

When faced with difficult problems, I always analyze those critically providing workable and possible solutions to them

In my quest to becoming a competent leader, various challenges have been there, perceived as my weaknesses. I have continuously sought to mitigate and improve on them via various strategies aimed at bringing them into my strengths.

In most cases where I canMy strategy to counter this has been through developing trust in other people’s abilities and that they can do the duties equally well if given a chance, hence promoting my delegation aspect of duties.

Being over optimistic is another hurdle that has affected my ability in handling difficult situations, leading to failure in delivery of results. currently approaching each event open-mindedly and with other possible alternatives in case one fails.

I am a perfectionist and always like things done to perfect standards. I have perceived simple mistakes committed with much weight. It has always affected my working relationships with my friends who do not subscribe to similar ideology. For me to become a good leader, have currently learned how to cope with mistakes and understanding that small flaws should be present to enable future learning and corrections.

On my worst, I sometimes act without consideration of other people’s opinions, lacking the will to delegate duties to others, being over optimistic in different situations. I am also a perfectionist affecting working with others especially in the case of a mistake.
