Through the practice of mental health nursing in the society today, various contemporary issues in the current practice are established upon the philosophical perspective of mental health. The various contemporary issues in the provision of care to client in mental health care are based on the mental health philosophies that strive to devise new ways of care provision. In the philosophy mental health nursing, the safety of the client and the benefit of treatment in the ethical consideration of care are underpinned by the need for client consent, privacy and self-determination of care needs (Fontaine, 2013). The nursing care in mental health philosophy is regarded the mandatory treatment of individual with mental health problems (Quigley, 2010). Among the areas of philosophical underpinning in mental health include the biological explanation of the biological aspects of the human brain against the existence of the mind and brain in the explanation of consciousness of the individual.
