This is a paper on RSA cryptography and number theoretic cryptosystems in general. Your paper should contain:
1) Some brief historical context. When was this algorithm developed? What does RSA stand for? and any other historical facts you find interesting.
2) A fully mathematically correct description of how RSA crypotgraphy works, including an example with actual (small) numbers. (In other words, Alice wants to send a message to Bob using RSA. What does that look like? What is a public key and how does it work?)
3) Your choice of a topic to take this further. You can choose from:
Another number theoretic cryptosystem (Options include DSA and Diffie-Helman)
Vulnerabilites to RSA and how they are overcome (timing attacks is a good option here.)
Other implementation issues with RSA (for example padding algorithms, what are they and why are they used?)
Throughout the paper you should use good spelling and grammar, and be neat and clear. Preferably this paper will be typed (if you haven’t learned LaTeX this might be a good time to check it out) but handwritten work will be accepted (it should be clean and pretty though with minimal to no eraser marks or scratched out words.)
You will need to cite at least one reputable source (not just wikipedia), and I will be checking for plagiarism, so please don’t try to pass off someone else’s work as your own.
