Part 1, Leadership/Command Philosophy. Assume that you have taken command of your current organization. Write what your leadership and command philosophy will be during your command/office tenure. Include what you believe are the most important leadership traits and characteristics for leaders to have in order to be successful. Reflect on your philosophy and provide supporting rationale on leadership theories, principles and/or experiences that influenced and shaped your philosophy. Part II, Interview Summary. Conduct an interview of a CEO/senior manager or equivalent about their most challenging leadership/command issue and how they resolved it. What influenced their decision making process, what skills and/or competencies were required to resolve it, what best prepared them to address the situation, and what was the outcome (personally/organizationally)? Write a summary of the interview. Note: the interviewee must have at least 12 months experience in a leadership position. Part III, Interview Analysis. Write an analysis of the interviewee?s actions. How would your leadership philosophy have influenced your actions if you experienced the same challenge? Would you have done things differently from the interviewee? Why/Why not? Utilize leadership and command theories, principles, and competencies from the self-paced course (as applicable) to support your position. Do not post any actual names or organizations.
