Instructions

Essay Topic:In Kim Against Dualism, David Jehle argues that Jaegwon Kim’s basic argument against substance dualism fails, and Jehle tries to show how brain and mind (or body and soul) could be causally connected. E.J. Lowe, in his article, Non-Cartesian Substance Dualism and the Problem of Mental Causation would agree with Jehle that Kim’s argument fails, but he has a very different reason to believe that the two substances could interact. Compare and contrast the views of Jehle, Kim, and Lowe, and argue for which one you believe is best.
