(b) Go to the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control at http://www.treasury.gov/about/organizational-structure/offices/Pages/Office-of-Foreign-Assets-Control.aspx and look at

These are the national embargo export controls. Note that this set of export controls is separate from the EAA controls described in the textbook, administered and enforced by the Commerce Department, including their Commerce Control List and Commerce Country Chart, which primarily applies to high technology products.* Important to Note: These Treasury OFAC embargo sanctions apply to every exporter, regardless of level of technology.
On page 203, the textbook erroneously states that BIS maintains the Treasury Department’s Specially Designated National and Blocked Person List€¦ The truth is, BIS has links on their website to the Treasury Dept.’s OFAC site, but there are several blacklists of persons and entities that US exporters may not deal with. Commerce and Treasury each have their own lists. Commerce’s lists are called the Denied Persons List and the Unverified List. To see the links to all of the blacklists, go to http://www.bis.doc.gov/complianceandenforcement/ListsToCheck.htm
