Information security can be defined as the practice of defending one’s or an entity’s information

from unauthorized access, perusal, inspection, destruction or recording, disclosure and use.

Failure to engage in proper protection practices can lead to business failure because of the

interdependence between information and the running of a business. This research paper focuses

on assessing the information security status at Woolworths and providing some suggestions on

how to improve the level of security. The paper finds that Woolworths has taken adequate

measures to protect its information and this can be one of the reasons behind its exemplary
