Order Description
The Primary source research paper should be about 8 pages. Students will use published primary documents and/or archival sources to ask a historical question about the past.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT PRIMARY SOURCE DOCUMENTS MUST BE USED FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT as well as secondary documents.
Suggested outline but can be different:
Intro-what is kosher?, Thesis, American Jews’ dietary laws
Explain kosher in detail (meat preparation, do’s and dont’s, what is clean, etc..)
How American Jews kept dietary laws before and after the 3 major jewish groups emerged: Reform Judaism, Conservative Judaism, and Orthodox Judaism.
Collection of any data/information with regards to stores that were available, kosher farms and their locations, butcher shops, cost of the whole process.
