This movie is about the home front in Britain during World War II, in the period between 19401941
known as “the Blitz.”
Using specific examples from the movie, focus on the following questions:
a) What, according to the movie, was it like to live in London during the war?
b) How did ordinary people adjust to the everpresent
threat of bombings?
c) How do you think this experience might have compared to the German or Japanese experience of civilian bombing
toward the end of the war?
d) Do you think this film is historically accurate? Why or why not?
