Generation Y: Millennials Teenagers, as well as people in their twenties and early thirties have been dubbed the Generation Y, or simply the Millennials. These are basically persons who were born between the early 1980s and early 2000s; the birth range of 1982-2000 is commonly applied for this particular group. They are referred to as Generation Y because they came after Generation X – those born between the early ‘60s and 1981 (Telesca, 2013). The Millennials is a generation of technologically savvy young persons who are creative problem solvers.
