The first article covers the application of game theory on military of the United States. The application of game theory is analyzed in regards with the US military doctrine of decision(Haywood Jr, 1954). According to the doctrine, the commander should go for the best course of action that will be successful and offer great promise in light of the ability of the enemy (Haywood Jr, 1954). I chose the paper because there is development of analogy between existing military doctrine in US and the theory of games, something that is rare in most studies. Additionally, the paper presents (Haywood Jr, 1954).

Terrorism and Game Theory

This article studies how the analyses of terrorism using game theory have provided some policy insights that do not take after nonstrategic analyses (Sandler, 2003). Some of the new game-theoretic applications are shown that there is concern of terrorist targeting businesses, official and the general public in instances where targets can be executed at cross-purposes as they attempt to deflect the attack(Sandler, 2003). The other areas covered are the choices of the government concerning alternative anti-terrorism policies, and government concessionary policy in instances where terrorists take hard lines or moderate their perspective(Sandler, 2003). I chose this article given that terrorism is a global concern and is on the rise making it a worldwide threat. Additionally, there is also need of the global community to embrace new strategies and policies to address terrorism.

Both the sources are peer-reviewed journals, and they are reliable given that the authors are experts in the various fields. Additionally, there is extensive research carried out on the area of study in both articles and names and credentials are given for both. The articles have structured the format and included statistics and tables where needed.
