The assessment task allows student to show how their philosophy of teaching Chemistry has evolved and been influenced by their learning from the workshops and Science Lectures, engagement with professional readings and experiences from placement.
Details of task:
In this assessment task students will be required to submit a portfolio that visually represents your philosophy, skills and abilities in being a chemistry teacher.
Portfolio production is a process requiring collection, selection and reflection. Students will collect samples of their work or visual reminders from which they will select a certain number of these as evidence to support and build a display which visually represents them and their ability to perform as a chemistry teacher.
The students will reflect on their learning to help them see what they have accomplished, and what they want to continue to work on as a practising professional.
Criteria for marking:
1. Clearly articulated philosophy

2. Selection and use of evidence to illustrate/support the philosophy

3. Demonstrated understanding of educational theories, principles and processes that underpin the philosophy
4. Fluency and coherency of the portfolio including appropriate referencing
