Extra Credit ARTICLE REVIEW

It is REQUIRED that you correctly cite the article: author(s), date, article title, professional journal the article was published in, volume number, pages. No credit will be earned unless the article is cited (I need to be able to look up the article).

Other instructions: Make sure your name is on your paper as well as the course information. Paper must be one page, single-spaced, and 12 pt font. Paper must be uploaded to the Turnitin link.
Paper is worth up to 10 points. No late extra credit will be accepted.

Finding Professional Peer-reviewed Journal Articles
Instructions for finding professional, peer reviewed journal articles online via the Saddleback College Library
1) Go to the Saddleback College website: http://www.saddleback.edu/
2) Click on the Library button (left side of page towards the bottom)
3) Click on Articles; click on Articles Database A-Z
4) Click on Expanded Academic ASP, Proquest/Magazines and Journals, or JSTOR (you will use one of these as your search engine); if you are off-campus you will be asked to enter your username and password at this point
5) Browse by discipline title: choose Sociology or complete an advanced search for a specific sociological topic
6) Choose the title of the journal or the topic you wish to research
7) Click on full-text (you will want to review a full-text article)
8) Make sure you have chosen a peer-reviewed publication/journal from the list of journals noted
Then click on publication dates after and choose after 1/1/2007 to choose the more recent articles then click on Search, the list of articles will appear. To make sure you have the correct type of article make sure that the article you choose is NOT one page (this will only be a summary of an article and will not have enough information in it for you to complete the assignment). Also, make sure the article contains the subheadings noted in the instructions (previous research/literature review, sample or subjects, research method, etc.).
