Qualitative Analysis Question Sheet
Question
Answer ONE of the questions below in relation to the interview transcript(s) and textual material referred to in the question you choose. These can all be viewed on Canvas in the Assessment & Feedback Folder to be found in the DARD module section.
Please note that you should also refer to the reading on the list that is provided with your module outline, as well as researching additional substantive sources on the topic for the question you have chosen.
1. From an analysis of the interview transcript and text in the folder Q1: Ethnicity and National Identity in the WebCT folder for this second DARD assessment, and drawing on your own wider reading, answer the research question: ‘How does living in Scotland affect the identity of people of Pakistani ethnicity?’
In your answer you should make clear any qualifications you would place on your conclusions. You should also make reference to how you used NVivo in your analysis, and assess its advantages and disadvantages. You may also make reference to the background information on the study from which your transcript has been drawn.
2. From an analysis of the interview transcript and text in the folder Q2: Radical Activism in the WebCT folder for this second DARD assessment, and drawing on your own wider reading, answer the research question: ‘What motivates involvement in radical political action?’
In your answer you should make clear any qualifications you would place on your conclusions. You should also make reference to how you used NVivo in your analysis, and assess its advantages and disadvantages. You may also make reference to the background information on the study from which your transcript has been drawn.
3. From an analysis of the interview transcript and text in the folder Q3: Identity and Exile in the WebCT folder for this third DARD assessment, and drawing on your own wider reading, answer the research question: ‘How might the experience of exile affect a sense of identity?’
In your answer you should make clear any qualifications you would place on your conclusions. You should also make reference to how you used NVivo in your analysis, and assess its advantages and disadvantages. You may also make reference to the background information on the study from which your transcript has been drawn.

Submission
You should submit ONE electronic copy of your assessment via Speedgrader on the Assessment and Feedback section of the Canvas website for this module. Your work must be submitted by 11.59pm on Monday 22nd February 2016.
