Dangers of Children in Restaurants

Introduction

Avisit to a restaurant in the city uncovered the truth of what jeopardy children face in restaurants.

Narrative point: Witnessing the likely dangers exposed to children in restaurants became an eye opener in my life that made me take a different path and start fighting for children’s rights to good health.

Narrative details

Seated at a table in the restaurant, a couple with their child slowly walked in, fondly holding the child who obviously seemed to be the apple of their eye. (The scene attracted me and I couldn’t help but keep admiring the young family as they ate joyously).

Flashback: Sitting in the same restaurant a couple of weeks ago, I had witnessed quite a young child with his parents feeding

Seeing the kind of food served and the weight of the child, I waited until they were had eaten (trying as much as possible to be a silent observer).

I took calculated steps to their table, trying my best to look like a priest. It was the duty I had to fulfill.

My talk and free advice were embraced by stern-looking faces (the faces could have made me disappear into the thin air, and completely tie my tongue!). But I decided to press on.

The parents were unwilling to read the open book about their child’s health risk from her weight, and the answer I received was just stunning. “Can’t you see we do our best to bring our son to the best restaurant in town? He is just fine.” Such was the yelling the mother could give back (my biggest disappointment that day).

Concluding paragraph

The incident led me to take a different path in life, which would lead me to becoming a nutritionist for the sake of proper feeding to the innocent creatures and fight for their right to good health.
