1) Consider the Neuro-developmental disorder Autism: a) Describe the key diagnostic criteria. b) Discuss the evidence for the theory of mind model of autism. c) Describe some the biological underpinnings of autism, and where possible, relate these to the social deficits seen in autism. 2) In relation to ageing and Dementia a) Critically discuss the neuropathology and genetic evidence associated with Alzheimer’s disease. b) Design a lifestyle program for an ageing person which highlights the neuro-protective lifestyle factors that help to reinforce healthy ageing (use research to support the development of this program).
