Design Analysis: Clients Goals and Designers Goals
This paper explains a project that involves the designing of a three star hotel in Doha. This is because there are many complains about Doha having a whole lot of five star hotels but not three star hotels. I plan to design one that will help bridge the gap present due to lack of the ‘feasible’ three star facilities. This venture will seek to reduce the stress and discomfort of people and visitors visiting Doha and cannot afford the fees of the five star hotels. The current investors in Qatar’s hospitality industry are focusing on the growth of five star hotels naming them fancy names to attract clients. Also, the hotels under five stars are dirty, old, subserviced, and generally do not provide family service. It also came to my attention that the same hotels were located in environments that were in aesthetically displeasing locations. This implies that the owners of these joints did not carefully consider their environment of their businesses before venturing into their investments.
Client’s goals
-The designer will embark on designing a three star hotel exclusive not only by its name but by the kind of services it offers.
-Affordableand have efficient and quality services.
-It will also be eco-friendly and a place that customers will love the place.
-convenient location preferably in Corniche, Downtown Doha, Qatar. This place is a waterfront promenade and extends along Doha Bay. The Corniche attracts a diverse crowd of visitors and is therefore provides a wide range of customers. This location will offer a perfect view of the seafront and a perfect relaxing atmosphere for the clients.
Designer goals
– The project will serve to satisfy middle level income earners who may want to visit Doha. This addresses the economic issues of the visitors and by providing a more pocket friendly resort, the clients will be more satisfied. The problem is prevalent in the region due to the lack of focus on middle level income earners who cannot afford five star services. In addition, the place will also seek to provide top service not available in three star hotels in the region.
– Design a hotel that will be more compatible with the environment. The design will encompass an eco-friendly approach that will seek to conserve and not harm the diverse marine life present in the city of Doha. This will ensure the continuity of the region as a tourist and business center.
– To provide a geographically well stationed three star hotel resort. In this design, the location of the hotel will justify the value of the client’s money. The view of the seashore will give customers a thrill they have never experienced before in a hotel in Doha.
– The design will seek to adopt a family oriented approach not common in the three star hotels of Doha. The approach will ensure that the customers visiting will be able to carry along their families knowing well that their needs will be fully served.
– To provide a clean and fully serviced resort. The current hotels under five stars located in Doha do not take into account the concepts of cleanliness and service of the rooms. The design will create a structure that is easy to maintain for the customer’s sake
– To set an example to other investors of how hotels less than three stars should be. In this project, the potential and current inventors in the Doha hospitality industry will seek to design hotels of the same attributes thus satisfying customers. The eco-friendliness, service, location and finesse in design of the resort will make them rethink their views about how such hotels should be.
