DETAILS OF ASSIGNMENT
Assessment Task A
This assessment component will be based on your ability to research, analyse and critically reflect upon the significance of specific Business Information Management topics in modern business.
For the purposes of this assignment component:
Critically evaluate the process of developing an information systems plan and the relationship between business process reengineering and information technology. Consider the basic planning and control methods and techniques. Explore database management systems concepts, in particular the relationship between data models, process models and object oriented models.
Assessment Task B
For the purposes of this assignment component:
Develop a rich picture, sub-systems diagram, data flow diagram (DFD) and entity relationship diagram (ERD) suitable for the IT Manager Co Ltd case study scenario attached. Prepare a personal critical analysis of the data modelling processes carried out.
This is an individual written assignment: 3500 words maximum.
35% of the overall mark for this module will be allocated to this individual assignment.
Guidance Notes:
?You should support your work throughout with evidence from at least 15 good quality academic (journal articles, textbooks, conference proceedings, etc) and business sources. All material you reference should be cited fully using the Harvard Referencing style, both within the main body of your report and in a clearly marked References section at the end.
You should ensure that you adhere to the current student regulations regarding assessment (presented in the student handbook), with particular reference to ethical considerations and issues of plagiarism.
You need to label your work properly. You also need a cover sheet with your details. You are encouraged to use header and footer for your name and student number within your document where appropriate. DO NOT HAND IN LOOSE WORKS. You need to attach the assignment cover sheet which you can get from the department office to the front of the assignment. Please also provide a CDROM holding electronic copies of your research paper and spreadsheet files.
