Assess the nutritional intake of the given case study & report on the findings in relation to current UK dietary guidelines.

1. Using a dietary analysis software programme, calculate the case study?s average daily intake of the
following nutrients & include the 3 day averaged analysis from Dietplan/analysis software in a labelled
appendix:
? Macronutrients: total energy (kcal), total protein intake (g), non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) intake (g),
% energy intake from total fat, saturated fat, protein & carbohydrate intake.
? Micronutrients: Vitamin C, vitamin D, thiamine, folate, vitamin B12, iron, calcium, sodium and zinc.
2. Tabulate intakes of these nutrients along with the current, relevant UK dietary reference value for each
nutrient. See example table 1 below. Include a title for the table. This table & title are not included in
the word count.
3. Compare the adequacy of the case study?s macro and micro nutrient intake to current UK dietary
guidelines. Highlight any nutrient intakes of concern and outline the possible consequences of these.
4. Describe 3 food based dietary recommendations you might suggest for the case study to improve the
nutritional adequacy of their intake.
