Advanced Rail Tracking and Safety System (AdRaTSS):
Rail transportation is vital to the economy and national security of the United States.
However, current systems in place for continuously monitoring the safety and integrity
of the nations railroad systems cover only a fraction of the thousands of miles of
railroad tracks in the United States. Many rail accidents occur due to undetected track
damage or other problems that are discovered too late for locomotive engineers to
avoid. In the post 9/11 environment, the threat of terrorism exacerbates this problem,
especially since enormous amounts of hazardous chemicals are moved daily through the
nations rail transportation system. It is essential to increase the operational safety of
the nation’s rail transportation system by developing a system that provides accurate,
reliable, and timely information to train crews and controllers.along with a diagram which illustrates the operation of your system
