A person dependent on alcohol

Chapters 7 and 8 describe the behavior of a person dependent on alcohol and the impact on others (family, friends, and work colleagues). How might a non-drinking family member behave in light of this problem? In addition to focusing on the family unit itself, also discuss the intersection of home, work, and friends. That is, how is the family impacted by what happens with friendships and at work?
